Who we are

I’m Allison Circuitt, and I’ve dedicated the last 13 years to canine care and training. My educational journey began at Unitec, where I earned my Certificate in Canine Behaviour and Training, followed by an online Diploma. Additionally, I hold a Certificate in Animal Psychology and am Pet First Aid-certified through Pet Tech. I’m currently pursuing a qualification in Behaviorism from the School of Canine Science.

Amidst my academic commitments, our family welcomed a new member last year—a rescue dog named Milo. It has been truly amazing to see his growth especially since he's been a part of our Day Lessons. He's a confident boy that loves to meet other dogs and has exceptionally recall making him a great dog to use for those that come into our care. We also have Torvi, a 5 year old cross breed who lights up our lives and fills our cup as an amazing pet. She does have a sensitive side to her therefore can be unpredictable around other dogs and when out and about. Since living rural, we have seen her relax into this carefree lifestyle where she is living her best life therefore accept that's who she is and manage her quirks accordingly.

I bring an undeniable passion to this field and am excited to extend my services to those eager to enrich their dogs’ lives. More than just a job, I love the opportunity to connect with new people and collaborate closely with dog owners. You can be confident you’re receiving unwavering commitment and comprehensive support.

Our Training Philosophy

Relationship first, always.

Building a bond with your dog/pup is the root of being able to communicate with your dog effectively. If your canine is not willing to work for you then the quality of training will not allow you as owner and dog to reach your full potential and grow together.

We first began our journey using Force Free training methods however found we were restricted to being able to open up a dog's world furthermore without providing the dog with clarity and control. We have since broadened our training skills and reviewed our style by working with balanced trainers who have taught us how to use a slip lead and e collar correctly. After using these balanced tools on my own dogs, I see the benefit of how they are able to build resilience when being interrupted by a tactile cue as well as providing consequences to their behaviour without shutting down.

These tools are only what we use for older dogs that are in need of further clarity when it comes to hyper arousal, confidence/arrogance, or those with a heavy reinforced history of repeating certain behaviours in a confident way.

Our dominant choice is always positive reinforcement first. Helping owners to improve their relationships with their companions by understanding what their roles in society are, using play to motivate their dogs/puppies, putting in boundaries to manage unwanted behaviours, being able to read their body language and building strong foundations with a strategic plan going forward. Tools come later down the track if necessary.

Programs to suit dogs and pups

We understand that life can be crazy at times. Whether you are a couple with a busy work/social life, solo owner who needs a bit of extra guidance or a family with kids running riots and busy with after school activities, we have packages to suit all needs and lifestyles.

We have carefully crafted packages to suit both puppies and dogs with a combination of our Day Lessons, Puppy Training and Coaching sessions.

Our Puppy Day Program can help pups that aren't fully vaccinated yet due to the safety measures we take to ensure there is minimal risk to disease. Here we are able to help hit your pups milestones in a positive way whilst in their socailisation period (before 4 months of age).

Our Day Lesson Package helps take the pressure off owners feeling overwhelmed and struggling to know where to start as the real world can be a place of uncertainty and unpredictability. We help lay your dogs foundations within our Day Lessons based at our rural home then venture out into the real world once your dog is doing well. Owners are coached on training skills and mechanics so their dogs start to see confidence in their owners which enable them to perform the same behaviours they have learnt in Day Lessons.

“Canine Quality's Puppy Day Program has been amazing for my pup to socailize in a safe environment even without his full vaccinations.”

Services

Initial Consultation $249

An initial consultation allows me to meet owners and their dogs in their own homes to assess behaviours and begin training exercises as well as implementing a management plan. Managing our dog's rehearsal of behaviours is an essential part of their behaviour modification program. We look at the lifestyle of each owner/family, talk about expectations for their dogs and how best to meet their needs on a daily basis. Video summaries are available when concluding the consultation for owners to refer back on and continue their dogs training progression.

Coaching Session $149

Coaching sessions are follow ups to our initial consultations to continue to build on owners skills and mechanics when it comes to training techniques and managing their dogs behaviour. These sessions are a mixture of at home and out in public spaces. We tailor our training methods to each owners preference as well as at their pace.  Helping owners to strengthen their bond with their loved one will help ensure their dogs look to them for guidance which will make taking them for walks and adventures a more enjoyable experience for both parties.

Day Lessons $129

Our most popular service! Day Lessons are the perfect way to help meet your dogs needs during the day so they feel more content at home as well as helping owners maintaining their training progress. With the addition of professionally installed crates our pick ups and drop offs are safe and secured which helps us cater to puppies that aren't fully vaccinated. This is crucial in order to expose your wee one to other dogs, new environments, children, people and more within their socialisation period (before 4 months of age).

We collect 5-9 dogs for 4-5 hours bring them to our home base, carry out 1-1 or 1-2 training as well as working on their social skills with other dogs. Starting off with one, or two calm dogs, we are able to build on their desire and motivation to engage with us than focus sole on playing with other dogs around them. This I find much better quality when it comes to how your dog or pups interacts with other dogs. Co-existing is something we strive for your dog to learn when in our care. Being around another dog without the expectation to play is going to benefit dog and owners in many ways. With safety and structure at our core, your dog/pup will be matched accordingly with other dogs to allow us to build their confidence when nervous or teach them to reign in their excitement if overstimulated wanting to play. When the time allows, depending on what type of dogs we have, we will head out to the sports field to proof your dog's skills in a new environment. Getting them to practice with multiple distractions is crucial for building their focus and confidence.

Packages

Day Lesson Package $1420

This package is suited for dogs older than 8 months old where we invest in a more intensive package which we feel is a great starting point in your dogs training journey. These lessons are designed to allow us to take the reins and get your pup/dog off to a good start by laying foundations, getting to know their motivators, assessing their social skills and finding what training methods are best suited to your dog's personality.

The Day Lessons program consists of;

8x Day Lessons (held at twice a week over 4 weeks)

1x Initial Consultation

2x Coaching sessions (the first coaching held after 4x Day Lessons and the last once the Day Lessons are completed).

With a clear start, middle and finish, this structured plan ensures that owners gain maximum benefits from the coaching sessions. This is a great starting point for owners that are feeling overwhelmed, have a busy lifestyle or want a refresher in their dogs training. The coaching sessions can be carried out in the real world so owners can build their confidence when working around distractions.

Puppy Day Program $499

For pups under 8 months.

Our Puppy Day Program equips young dogs with essential skills for growth, focusing on obedience and social behaviors. Through structured coaching sessions and lessons, we offer a comprehensive educational journey that prepares puppies for success in various environments.

This program consists of;

4x one to one Puppy Coaching sessions

2x Day Lessons

**additional Day Lessons are only $60 per day once the 2 Day Lessons are completed when currently doing the program. A great option to tie over your pup until we can complete the third coaching if not fully vaccinated yet.**

The first, second and fourth coaching sessions are done in your home and the third session is dedicated for outdoors to work on lead skills, engagement around distractions and meet and greets with dogs and people in a real-world public space.

Each coaching session is about 1-1.5 hours long and can be spaced about 1-3 weeks apart, giving owners plenty of time to practice. This also helps when it comes to waiting for the vaccination process to be complete before doing that third session.

In the meantime to tie your pup over, our Day lessons are the perfect fit to give pups the exposure to other dogs and a new environment in a safe and controlled manner. If your pup is under 4 months, this is an ideal set up to hit their milestones within their socialisation period which can be tricky to navigate when pups aren't fully vaccinated but exposure is crucial in this period. With pick up and drop offs available, you can sit back knowing your pup is getting the best quality care.

I find this to be the best option for young pups and owners feeling overwhelmed. We are here to help every step of the way with some amazing feedback with a lot of clients choosing to stay on with Concession cards after their program has finished!

Testimonials

We started day training with Allison from Canine Quality back in September last year, and it’s truly been a journey with Pablo. Prior to finding Allison, we had reached out to a couple of other trainers in the area but never received any replies. From the beginning, Allison was responsive, supportive, and genuinely cared about helping us and Pablo.

At the time, Pablo wasn’t listening to us and we were really struggling with his behaviour. We even made the decision to get him desexed thinking it would help instantly, but we quickly learned that real, lasting change takes time, consistency, and proper structure.
Allison has been incredibly supportive throughout the entire process. Not only has she worked with Pablo during his day training, but she’s also taught us how important it is for us as owners to continue the structure and reinforce everything correctly at home. Celebrating all the small wins along the way has been so important, instead of expecting miracles overnight. Allison gives you the tools and guidance, but you also have to be willing to put in the work as an owner to see the results.

We’re now on our second round of training, and although it’s been a long ride, we’re finally getting to that stage where everything is starting to click. We’re so glad to be seeing real progress, and it’s such a rewarding feeling. We’re incredibly grateful for Allison’s patience, knowledge, and dedication, and would highly recommend Canine Quality to anyone who is committed to helping their dog and trusting the process.

Alison has done a fantastic job helping our Kaia girl with being reactive and nervous around other dogs. She has also given us the tools to read Kaias behaviour and watch for triggers to help her out. We cannot recommend Alison and Al’s Pals highly enough. Kaia absolutely loves Alison and we felt relaxed and happy with Kaia in her care Thank you so much Alison

We only had our first consultation with Allison 2 weeks ago but right from the beginning I knew this force free trainer was going to be a fantastic fit! I have 2 very high energy dogs, the younger of whom did not get as much one on one training or possibly the right attention as the older did, and recently lashed out and seriously hurt the older one. There was no judgement from Allison (what I could have done better etc), only support and suggestions on how to do better for future.

In 2 weeks I've seen so much progress with my dogs, and I'm really looking forward to the next stage!

Allison has been absolutely fantastic with our GSD pup. She was super supportive when we first got him and I was having meltdowns because we’d gotten a land shark instead of a puppy. She helped us with the tools we needed to manage the phase and sometimes just listened. Pretty early on we started sending our boy on day trains with her. Day trains with Canine Quality have been an excellent way for our GSD pup to socialise with other pups and dogs in a controlled and structured setting and learn how to interact. As well as get exposure to new experiences, and train with distractions. We’re now seeing the benefit of these sessions as we take him out and about. Through it all Allison keeps us updated on his social skills and behavioural traits, both the things he’s excelling at and the things that we need to help him further with. Most importantly our boy LOVES Allison! Thank you Canine Quality for helping us shape our pup into a good boy!

Alison has helped to turn young Archie into a wonderful happy family member, recommend Alison 100%, nice and friendly and knows her stuff, so glad we found her.

Steve, Imogen and Archie - 10th March 2024

My husband and I have been with Alison for around 3 years. When we first approached Alison, we were considering having to put our dog down due to her high reactivity which often resulted in aggression. Through Alison’s hard work, we are now able to take our dog on walks without uncontrollable reactivity and have witnessed her manage to develop friendships with other dogs. We have appreciated the care Alison has for our girl and we can tell that she loves her weekly training session as she gets so excited when Alison arrives to pick her up. We also appreciate Alison’s flexibility as we are both shift workers. She manages to work around our schedule which enables our girl to have regular sessions.

Allison has been working with Winston and I on his leash reactivity and separation anxiety, and does an incredible job. His tail is a weapon when he sees her walk through the door, and we know he enjoys his training walks and sessions with her.

She has a natural way with dogs and is so kind and patient with lots of solutions and advice.

We are very lucky to have Allison.
